Welcome to the Center for Spiritual Living blog! It is our purpose to support seekers on our spiritual paths.

This center recognizes and supports all who seek to better know their Spiritual Selves; we are aware that all paths lead to God.

You Can Relax Now

Rev. Nancy’s talk was about abundance. She read a quotation from Einstein that relates to our oneness with everything in the universe and our delusion about being separate. Here is the quotation:

Einstein_Delusion

Here’s a link to a list of  affirmations that were given to all those in attendance.  It is titled, Abundance Manifesto.

Also, here’s a song that introduced the evening’s meditation. It’s words are about the “dream” – “you thought you were separate.” Give it a listen. Enjoy.

Mother’s Day — Weavers

Sunday morning, May 12th, Ben Cook Feltz and the band performed a song written by his mother, Sharon Cook.  Perfect for Mother’s Day.  He also told us that he is now engaged to another musician who has performed as part of the  band, Mother Banjo – Ellen Stanley.

Here is what Ben has to say about the song.  “Mom co-wrote it with a friend in 1972, for that friend’s wedding, and it was performed again in 1979 at my parents’ own wedding. I first heard it when I was a teenager, I thought it was a beautiful song and was really surprised when Mom told me she’d written it, I had no idea she’d ever written songs.”

“Weavers”
words by Heddy Hustedde, music by Sharon Cook

I love you
You are a weaver
You hold my dream threads and seem to know
How the pattern ought to go

I marry you
Full well knowing
That it’s hard to sew a tapestry
In colors of you and me

Mirrored reflection, leaf-covered lawn
Everywhere that we belong

I love you
And we are weavers
We hold our dream threads and seem to know
How the pattern ought to go
How the pattern ought to go

THANK YOU!

— Thank you to the whole of us and to the many individuals contributing
the love, support, work and joyous energy that produced our awesome event last Sunday!
Rev. Joanne’s ordination during the morning service attracted 125 people (the most ever!) and was inspiring in so many ways!  Brad’s production team Skyped the service to a screen in the smaller room for the overflow from the 100 seats we had in the main room.
Special thanks to:
— Michele and her team of 20+ for organizing, cooking, shopping, schlepping party rental stuff and elegantly serving delicious food for the reception!
–Michele and Lisa for the beautiful flower arrangements, corsages and decor!
–Bradley Howe and his Music and Production Teams!
–Revs. Mary Beth & Michael Speer, who came from Illinois to officiate Joanne’s ordination!
–Our dedicated Core Council for putting this party on!
Joanne, you are loved!

Poem: Happiness and Light Hearted

Happiness and Light Hearted
is when I am observing
and participating in the
silence of my soul.
I may be looking at the gorgeous
landscapes of Mother Earth –
watching the sun rise and fall through Father Sky –
or a friend smile –
hearing the joy of a story –
seeing my grandchild try.
Enjoying the seconds not expecting them to be forever
No heaviness of heart, just air filled lightness of Life.

Mind/Body Healing Class

Graduating Class of 2011

mind_body_healing_2011a

“I am so glad I took the eight session class: Mind/Body Healing. I feel much more confident in my Treatments, and my understanding of the Mind/Body relationship. Rev. Nancy and my classmates were phenomenal!”

“The class material was excellent, and all of the participants were magnificent!”

“The Mind-Body class really drove home the point that what I focus on manifests, therefore there is GREAT benefit in training my mind through consistent daily spiritual practices to focus on Good – only Good.  Thank you!!”

“I now know that treatment really works—I didn’t really believe it before!”

“The class got me started journaling, and I plan to continue.  It’s powerful!”

“I also loved getting to know my classmates!”

“Thank you all for a great class! I am still smiling!”

Letter to OSC community

There are a number of inspiring signs of growth and maturing of OSC that we, your Core Council, would like to call to your attention.

  • We have recently been blessed with new members Rev. Ron Rude, his wife, Gulya, who is a practitioner, their 16-yr-old daughter and 3-yr old son.  (Rev. Ron ministered in Russia for 18 years, starting 3 centers there.)
  • Our hot new OSC band was formed earlier this year and is hugely inspirational each Sunday.
  • Karen Watson will be a Prac II student online this year, and will be eligible for licensing in spring 2012.  She, Rev Ron and Gulya are all available to rotate with Rev Joanne for free treatments following Sunday services!
  • OSC Children’s Circle has started receiving lessons in spiritual principles in addition to the excellent child care.
  • This fall Rev Nancy will conduct OSC’s first Practitioner Class, and Rev Joanne will offer a Foundations Class.  Rev Joanne conducted a Spiritual Mind Treatment Class in June, attracting 15 people.  She expects this fall’s Foundations Class to be well attended!
  • On some Sundays in the spring, our room seemed filled to capacity, with additional chairs brought in!

That said, we have been experiencing a summer financial slump and we need your help.  As a rule, when we have an attendance of 50 or more we receive about the same amount as it costs us to operate for a week.  Our May and June income was down, totaling $7,398; our average basic expense for two months is $11,080 ($5,540/mo).  This produced a shortfall of $3,682.

We hope you will consider making an extra financial gift to OSC, and remember that your Center depends on your support too on those Sundays when you are away or enjoying the summer weather.  There is a Pay Pal button on the OSC website if you care to use it.

We are so close to having the attendance and wherewithal to be self sustaining! Please reflect on what the OSC community means to you and support it now!

Let’s all continue to treat and vision for ways to unleash the financial abundance we know is within us.  On Sunday night the core council will begin weekly group-visioning sessions and will continue to vision individually.  A fall fundraiser is being planned and research is being done on larger locations that we expect will be needed soon.  We appreciate your input, ideas and energy.  Thank you for all that you do for OSC and please contact any council member with input or questions.

With Gratitude and Appreciation,

Your OSC Core Council,
Daisy McKinley, president

Do you have limits in your life that prevent you from making changes or achieving your highest goals?
Do you love what you do, and do what you love in life?
Are you impatient, waiting for good things to happen?

waynedyer

In Mastering the Art of Manifestation, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explores his most astonishing subject yet: the power of attracting your needs and desires into your life. Mastering the Art of Manifestation is an intensive that focuses on the ancient principle of manifesting through the timeless art of meditation. With characteristic insight and clarity, Wayne teaches the process of meditation as a way to streamline your thoughts, desires, and goals, and to bring what you most desire into your life. Whether you realize it or not, you struggle with built-in societal barriers that obstruct your inner potential.

When you fall into a dream state—either in sleep or during a down moment of the day—you conceive of goals and desires that are more spectacular than those you entertain when “awake,” yet you always wake thinking I can’t do that. It is this conditioned response that prevents you from achieving what you want, and it is this response that Wayne teaches you to overcome through the Nine Spiritual Principles of Manifesting. From “Becoming Aware of Your Highest Self” to “Trusting Yourself Is Trusting the Wisdom That Created You” to “Meditating to the Sound of Creation,” the Nine Spiritual Principles of Manifesting clear away what constricts you and illuminates a new path to achieving your truest goals.
