Life

Here is a link to a delightful commentary on Life from the Science of Mind perspective. I laughed out loud!

Rev. Glenn Chaffin introduced me to the Science of Mind 33 years ago, and has been a dear friend and mentor ever since.

Check out his ministry at www.NewThoughtStudy.org as well as the June journal entry!

Practical Mysticism Class

The Practical Mysticism class took place between March 4 and May 6, 2010. Joanne Biewald facilitated the class with the help from assistant, Carla McKim. There were ten enthusiastic students.

It was an enriching class with a good workbook. The texts used were: Carolyn Myss’ Entering the Castle: Finding the Inner Path to God and Your Souls Purpose and Joel Goldsmith’s The Foundations of Mysticism

We explored our individual mysticism by getting in touch with the mystic which indwells each of us. One highlight of the class was when each student gave a report on a mystic or mystical group. The reports introduced subjects from Toaism and I Ching to Reverend Ike !

Here are a couple comments from students:

“Well, it was great fun and now I know we have a lot of practicing to do. Looking forward to the next class. Joanne is a great teacher and has very few dropouts. I am aware that the general public is not quite aware of this, so nice to have our group to discuss things freely and openly. A great support group.” Dee Ray

“Another interesting OSC Class. Joanne puts a lot of thought and care into her classes.”

Thoughts on Principles from Gregg Erlandson

Forgiveness

For the past and future are only silhouettes of shadows,
The past has many gifts that must be rendered from our fears with grace, and the future is never engraved in granite.
We only create our futures with the pure light of love in presence of mind of now,
For that light cast no shadows

Forgiveness is the highest form of Universal love for us, through us, this true gift releases us to love ourselves now and in present mind of consciousness of being in oneness of now. Forgiveness starts with ourselves, when we release ourselves from any part or role in past situations. Freeing our selves as victims and feeling vulnerable of any judgments of feelings in which we held in denial in our ego’s mind. When we release our selves and feel that we are no longer the victim, a miracle seems too happened with the realization that we have also released others of their part or role. This happens almost simultaneously without realizing it at first; this is one of the many reciprocating gifts of the Universe expansion of expressing love through us. [Read more →]

Gregg Braden - The Science of Miracles

This video on YouTube was shown on a recent Sunday at Our Spiritual Center. It is enlightening about what is possible in the healing realm.

Enjoy and encourage.

Bill Gates on energy: Innovating to zero!

At TED2010, Bill Gates unveils his vision for the world’s energy future, describing the need for “miracles” to avoid planetary catastrophe and explaining why he’s backing a dramatically different type of nuclear reactor. The necessary goal? Zero carbon emissions globally by 2050.

The world’s most successful businessperson and most powerful philanthropist did something outstandingly bold, that went almost unremarked: Bill Gates announced that his top priority is getting the world to zero climate emissions.

Gates spoke about his commitment to using his massive philanthropic resources (the Gates Foundation is the world’s largest) to make life better for people through public health and poverty alleviation (”vaccines and seeds” as he put it). Then he said something he’s never said before:  because he’s committed to improving life for the world’s vulnerable people, he now believes that climate change is the most important challenge on the planet.

The Love Religion

Words of the 12th century Sufi mystic, poet and spiritual master Ibn Arabi.

The inner space inside what we call the heart
Has many different living scenes and stories,
A pasture for sleek gazelles,
A monastery for Christian monks
A temple with Shiva dancing
A Kaaba for pilgrims
The tablets of Moses are there, the Quran, the Vedas, the Sutras
and the Gospels.
Love is the religion in me and whichever way Love’s camel goes that
way becomes my faith
the source of beauty and a light of sacredness over all things.
